After completing an Ophthalmology Residency at the State University of New York at Buffalo, New York. and a Fellowship in Cornea and External Disease at Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia, Dr. Kent spent one and a half years in private corneal practice in Syracuse, New York She then moved west to join the Colorado Permanente Medical Group affiliated with Kaiser Permanente in Denver, Colorado in 1991. At Kaiser the majority of her practice involved Cornea and External Disease patients (during that time she performed over 500 corneal transplants). About 25% of her Kaiser practice involved general ophthalmology treating eye diseases such as glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, and macular degeneration. In addition, cataract surgery and pterygium surgery were a large part of her practice. She started performing refractive surgery with the excimer laser (PRK) in 1997.

Dr. Kent left Kaiser Permanente in 2003 to start her own private corneal practice. After office sharing in Aurora, Westminster, Wheat Ridge, and Denver with other ophthalmologists for two years, she opened her own office now located in the Tamarac Place Office Center at 7535 E Hampden Ave, Suite 410, Denver 80231. The office at Tamarac Place offers complete eye care services. Examinations are done in our state of the art exam lanes. The Porter Eye Lab is located nearby for more specialized ocular testing including specular microscopy, fluorescein angiography, YAG laser, Argon laser, OCT, HRT, and other technologies. Dr. Kent performs surgery at the well-known Harvard Park Surgical Center at Porter. The Clarity laser center at Denver is available for LASIK, PRK, and other refractive procedures.
